Current Roles Available

Position: Heat Pump / Renewable Energy Engineer
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000
Role Type: Full time
Advertised: 6th May 2020

Renewables First are the leading hydropower consultancy in the UK and has diversified into heat pumps, particularly water-source heat pumps. We have a growing pipeline of projects and need to recruit an engineer with an interest in, and preferably experience of, ground-source or water-source heat pumps. The company offers whole-project capability, from feasibility, through design, into construction and ongoing operational support. The projects range from domestic-scale to 800 kW commercial projects. We have also developed their own innovative heat collector plates specially for heat collection from rivers.

We are looking for someone to lead the growing heat-pump business, preferably with heat pump experience or can demonstrate relevant experience and keenness to learn. A can-do attitude, initiative to solve problems and determination for breaking down barriers will be important characteristics. The applicant would be involved in all project stages from initial sales enquiry to commissioning the system, and everything in between. This would include managing a portfolio of projects with commercial responsibility, all the way to installation and commissioning work – for the latter being able to demonstrate practical skills will be important.

The company strives to deliver the highest quality consultancy and installation services, so is looking for staff that have attention to detail, depth of understanding and are proud to deliver a good job. We are a commercial business that survives through making a profit, so the applicant must be commercially aware and have that ability to know what needs doing to keep the customer happy, get the job done and not get distracted. Some people struggle with this, some people thrive on it. Clearly we want to recruit people in the latter category. The business is established and growing, with opportunities to take on more managerial and commercial responsibility as your experience grows. As a small business of ten staff, flexibility is important. You must love a challenge and varied work.

Our office is located in a beautiful watermill in the Stroud valley, so is ideal for someone who likes to work in a pleasant environment. The office and staff are a friendly collaborative group, so we are looking for someone who fits in well with that ethos.

No recruitment agencies than you.
