Are heat pumps worth it financially?

Water-source heat pumps are cheaper to run than traditional heating systems, and longer-lasting. However, there is no escaping the fact that the upfront cost is significantly higher than installing a traditional boiler.

Projects receiving Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments can typically expect these to cover the entire cost of installation, plus provide a small additional income. The payback period is typically around 5-7 years for domestic projects (the RHI lasts 7 years) or 12-14 years for non-domestic projects (the RHI lasts 20 years). If you are thinking of installing a heat pump, now is the time to send us an enquiry, to give the best chance of qualifying for these incentives.
